Business Banking Officer

Stanbic Bank Zambia, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking a Business Banking Officer to manage a portfolio of corporate clients. The role involves developing relationships with medium to large businesses, understanding their financial needs, and offering appropriate banking solutions (loans, trade finance, cash management). The successful candidate will be responsible for customer acquisition, credit assessment, and ensuring excellent service delivery to the business sector.

- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate and SME clients, identifying their banking needs. - Conduct credit appraisals and risk assessments for loan requests and lending proposals. - Cross-sell bank products (loans, trade finance, electronic banking) to maximize portfolio growth. - Monitor client accounts for compliance with loan terms and regulatory requirements. - Prepare financial analyses and presentations for client pitches and internal credit committees. - Achieve sales and portfolio objectives set by management.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field. Professional banking or finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, CFA, or CPA Zambia) is a strong plus. Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate banking, credit analysis, or business banking roles.

Strong analytical skills with knowledge of accounting and financial statements. Excellent relationship management and communication abilities. Understanding of credit risk assessment and lending processes. Good knowledge of Zambian banking regulations.

Master's degree or MBA. Experience with trade finance products. Previous work in commercial banking at a Tier-1 bank.
